Coach found for Russia`s second national team
Former Lokomotiv Moscow coach Yury Krasnozhan has been appointed as head coach of Russia`s second national football team.
ґThe Russian Football Union announced the creation of the squad for "footballers who are not yet capable of making it into the main team" last week.
Russia 2 is expected to play their first ever friendly game in August.
According to RFU President Sergey Fursenko, the new team will not only open the possibility of trying out more talented footballers at international level, but will also increase the federation`s revenues.
Yury Krasnozhan left Lokomotiv Moscow in the wake of a scandal in June after the club`s bosses blamed him for making "deliberate mistakes" in the Russian Premier League game against Anzhi.
Before Loko, the 48-year-old specialist Krasnozhan was in charge of Spartak Nalchik from 2004 - 2009, leading one of the poorest clubs in the Russian top flight to record a high sixth-place finish.
